Six Weeks of Loving Baby T | Personal Post | Yucaipa Family Photography
Pregnant during a pandemic isn’t even something I knew was a possibility when those two longed for pink lines appeared in October 2019. I had no indication of the wild ride we would be on, the constant fear of getting sick, every changing hospital policies, ultrasound and doctor visits by myself and checking into the hospital, in labor, alone. Becoming a mother for the second time in a world turned upside down was an experience I am still processing and look forward to writing more about in the coming weeks. For now I am soaking up all the newborn goodness that this precious boy is bringing into our lives. Titus…

In My Daughter’s Eyes | Personal| Redlands Family Photographer
“In my daughter’s eyes I am strong and wise I am a hero And I know no fear But the truth is plain to see She was sent to rescue me I see who I want to be In my daughter’s eyes” -Martina McBride I remember hearing this song when it first came out and hoping my mother knew that is how I viewed her. I had no idea that someday God would use my own daughter to reflect this truth to me. To raise a daughter is to see a reflection of the feminine heart and soul walking around outside your body. It is an opportunity to feel how…

I Ran Away From Photography
May 2019. The last time I photographed professionally for a client was a year ago, and honestly, I only took one session before that. In fact, in this past year I haven’t picked up my camera much for personal work either. I stopped participating in online photography groups, stopped opening my collection of books, stopped the educational videos and workshops. I ran away from photography. There are a whole host of reasons I walked away, pressed pause on what brings my heart so much joy. I felt the weight of the investment vs. payout consideration every small business makes, I felt the pressure of being a mom and wife first and…

A Proposal Story | Daniel and Christina |Redlands Family Photographer
He just knew he was going to be the fun bachelor uncle forever and she was sure she was going to be the silly auntie with all the dogs. Little did they know an Easter Sunday service at Emmaus Church and a casual conversation between his big brother and her friends at work one day would change the course of their lives forever and lead to a beautiful backyard proposal. Daniel and Christina tell their engagement day proposal story so sweetly I invited them to do so here. Christina: ” My boss at Forrest Home let me have a free day to work from home, and since Mondays are Dan’s…

A Birth Story | Baby Jima | Yucaipa Birth Photographer
Some births happen in the darkness of the night. They are quiet, almost still in nature. The stars cheer mom on as she labors and the stars witness new life. This is not one of those birth stories. Baby Jima was ushered into the world under the fullness of sun, to the song of the birds and the rustle of the tress. And I could not imagine anything more fitting for his parents. From my first in-person consultation meeting with Danielle and Jima I knew they would be an amazing family to work with. They had an easy and relaxed report with one another, punctuated by witty banter that had…

This Is Us | The Serna Family | Redlands Family Storytelling Photographer
Behind the doors of a small Rancho Cucamonga apartment is a magic kingdom full of cuddles, kindness, dance parties, and life, so much life. It is also home to one of the sweetest sibling group I’ve had the pleasure of documenting. The way the two oldest loved and celebrated their little brother is a beautiful gift. This family was built over time and struggle, love and loss. Documenting an afternoon in their life was an absolute pleasure. I first met Veronica when she won a complementary session giveaway in partnership with The Juniper Blog. Upon learning that these would be the first professional pictures her family had I was thrilled…

Our Family Adventures Part 1 | Redlands Family Photographer
One of my absolute favorite things about being a family storytelling photographer is turning the camera on my own little family. Being able to document our adventures and our every day moments brings me so much joy but I realized I’ve never shared them with you! So here is to my effort to get caught up on our year, even if it is already July, and share some of our life and how I document our love. So starting with January and February, 2018. These months were full of trips to the zoo, her first snowfall, park dates and unfortunately, a battle with pneumonia. Our walls are filled with images…

A Birth Story | Baby Zayden | Redlands Birth Photographer
They met when she walked into a Los Angeles area Harley Davidson store. He was smitten and she kept finding reasons to go back. Soon they were riding motorcycles together up and down the coast of California and beyond. With a love story beginning like that it is easy anticipate all the adventures these two will share. Yet, their biggest adventure just may come in the form of the birth of their 8 lb. bundle of boy. I instantly fell in love with Jacob and Brittany when we met over dinner at Downtown Disney for their birth session pre-consultation. Their adoration for one another was almost palpable. They both spoke…

An In-Home Newborn Session | Baby Ezra | La Mirada
“After all,” Anne had said to Marilla once, “I believe the nicest and sweetest days are not those on which anything very splendid or wonderful or exciting happens but just those that bring simple little pleasures, following one another softly, like pearls slipping off a string.” ― L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Avonlea On a sunny Southern California day I walked put to a house that radiated with laughter and adventure. From the backyard I could hear pirates and circus performers. Upon entering, the house was empty except for a precious sleeping babe and his parents. Life was happening in the dirt and trees, the imaginary forts and sail ships. Adventure was being…

An In-Home Maternity Session | Ryan & Laura | Redlands Family Photographer
In a cozy cabin tucked away in the Big Bear Mountains they exchanged loving glances and tender touches filled with anticipation for the tiny life that would join them soon. The day was typical, filled with making breakfast, playing cards, writing love letters and reading books. In a way it was nothing special and yet, it was filled with the excited tension of the unique maternity season. That season filled with routine and wonder, anticipation and daily tasks. In each activity there was conversation of what life would be like when Reagan was here. What would these normal, every day activities be like with her around? More importantly, what would…
