I am so excited to be using part of my maternity leave to develop and offer a photography class just for kids! Read below for more details and contact me if you are interested. A location and time will be announced once I have enough interest so we can make it convenient for everyone.

student photography class

Is your student interested in the art and science of photography? Do they have a desire to tell stories and document their world? Then this course is for them. Through a combination of technical lessons and fun projects, students will master the fine art of photography.

Students will learn to master:

  • The camera – learn manual settings to create the art you envision
  • The light – learn proper exposure and use of light to tell a story
  • The composition – learn how to include key people, places and things in a picture
  • The story – learn how to use this powerful genre to share your world
  • The presentation – learn how to cull, edit, print and display your work

Details:

  • Open to 5th through 12th grade students
  • Class size limited to 10 students to provide meaningful instruction
  • Class will meet once a week for 12 weeks at a time and location in the Yucaipa area that is to be determined once the class is full
  • A DSLR or any camera with a manual setting is required (not camera phone)
  • Handouts and materials will be provided
  • Class fee is $75 and goes towards materials and printing of images for gallery showing (ask about a sibling discount)
