After typing the title I am now singing “Ch-ch-ch-changes! Turn and face the strange changes. Time may change me but I can’t waste time” (be very glad you can’t actually hear me singing). Okay, now that my cameo as David Bowie is over, I am so excited to share some major changes happening over in the Captured Grace by Erin world.
First, we moved! Our family is now located in the beautiful hills of Yucaipa, Ca. Having lived in the heart of downtown Los Angeles for the past 7 years this is quite the change. Birds replaced helicopters and trees replaced skyscrapers. I am not complaining. The Yucaipa sunset is epic and I cannot wait to get some families in front of my lens for family sunset photography sessions. I also start dreaming of documenting a family with horses every time I pass a horse property, which happens pretty often out here. Don’t worry though, I will still be taking clients in Los Angeles and promise to return on a regular basis.
Now for the biggest news…using my best Ricky Ricardo voice to say “We had a baby, it’s a girl!” After a pretty devastating miscarriage last year God graced us with a beautiful baby girl. Annalise Mina was born on February 27th and has blessed us each day since. We couldn’t be more thrilled to be on the journey of parenthood. I’m so smitten with this girl and the experience of motherhood that I am using all my skills to tell the story of our family through photography. Below are just a few of the images that tell my journey of motherhood so far.
As a mother now, I am even more convinced of the importance of documenting our days and leaving a visual legacy that I will be writing a series on tips for family documentary photography at home. I can’t wait to see your family’s magic in the mundane and grace in the grind.
