It is one thing when your friends start having babies, it is quite another thing when your baby brother’s friends start having little ones. Reconnecting with Daniella was a treat. She is part of my little brother’s circle of friends from church and seeing her as a mother is amazing. Daniella and Joshua are such a great pair. They are fun and silly with each other and both totally adore their beautiful daughter Violet. From morning coffee and bead head hair to cuddles and walks, to bath time traditions and first steps, our day was filled with laughter and exploration. I love when a day in the life family session is casual and relaxed. No big outings or adventures, just normal, everyday moments.
Daniella and Joshua, thank you for opening your home to me, for being real and vulnerable. You are such a great couple and I enjoyed my time with you. I love the way you adore your baby girl and work hard to be present with her. I wish your family all the best! Enjoy the journey.
Whoever says women are weak never watched them care for a little one. I mean look at that lady get a stroller holding a toddler up the stairs!
One of my favorite things is watching dads interact with their litlte ones. Moms are tender and cuddle, dads wrestle and make soap mohawks. Bath time is a daddy and daughter tradition and I absolutely love that they rearranged their normal time because Joshua wanted it documented. These will be priceless memories when Violet is older.
And then she walked!! We all watched it happen as she grabbed a toy she has pulled herself up on hundreds of time, took one look at mom and dad to make sure they were watching, then took off. The expression on mom’s face says it all. I can’t believe I was there to document it and get mom in the picture too!
It was truly a pleasure to spend a few hours with this family. Little love notes around the house is just one glimpse into how supportive they are of each other. I have no doubt there is a lifetime of amazing memories ahead of them.
